BİDEV is taking the field, BİDEV Project for Basketball in Villages is being realized!
A GIANT STEP FOR BASKETBALL IN VİLLAGES
Through our social responsibility project one big step for basketball in rural communities we aim to focus on disadvantaged communities and introduce the youth and children living in those areas to sports. Using the healing power of sports, we aim to help raise good individuals and support social progress.
For this purpose we have planned several functional activities in the selected primary schools such as constructing professional basketball fields, supporting with material and equipment where needed and providing trainers in places where there is scarcity of qualified trainers.
The field research of this project has been started by our project volunteer, basketball coach Mahmut Şimşek. Through his visits and inspections in the SouthEast Türkiye, we are determining, together with physical education teachers and basketball coaches in small towns and villages , the current conditions in schools and the primary needs in order to be able to make a project plan in correlation with the realities of the area.
Initially we will begin in 10 cities and our aim is to widen the project to entire Türkiye…
We are focused on 10 prioritized cities in Türkiye as pilot project. After reviewing the outcome of the pilot work we wish to turn this project into a nationwide activity.
Currently the schools within these cities have 50 - 2.000 students.
The actions we will be taking the selected schools:
Basketball Field Construction/Renovation:
The majority of our designated schools do not have sports facilities. BIDEV will ensure that our youth have the necessary means to participate in sports in better conditions.
Education and Development:
Through our collaboration with TEGV(The Educational Volunteers Foundation of Türkiye), BIDEV will make a positive impact in the development of our youth through educational and life skills support.
Regular Material Support:
We will regularly provide equipment and material support to the schools and children.
